Tip #1
Put a cup of white vinegar in the first wash to set the dye and help preserve colors. This is especially important for 100% cotton fabrics.
Tip #2
Avoid the use of "color safe bleach" detergents. They can fade garments with prolonged use.
Tip #3
Avoid the use of dryer sheets, as they can leave greasy looking spots on garments that will not come out.
Tip #4
Wash garments inside out.
Tip #5
When laundering, dry on delicate cycle for about 10 minutes and hang damp to finish drying. This is especially important for 100% cotton fabrics, but is very helpful on most fabrics to prevent shrinkage and also eliminate the need for ironing.
Tip#6
Devon & Jones recommends that fabric softeners not be used on their garments.
